Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act (MMRDA) to boost the mining sector as IME 2022 focuses on “Technological Advancements in the Mining Industry.”

Kolkata April 04, 2022: Dr.Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Coal today inaugurated the 9th International Mining Exhibition (IME 2022).. Also present on the occasion were M. Nagaraju, IAS Additional Secretary / Pramod Agrawaal , IAS CMD Coal India Ltd./   Rowan Ainsworth Consul General Australian Consulate. Significantly, April 04 is observed as the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action.

The 9th edition of IME 2022 is being held from April 4-7 2022 at Eco Park, Rajarhat , Kolkata with the theme “Technological Advancements in the Mining Industry.” The Exhibition is expected to bring an unprecedented display of technologies and their application in mining minerals and metallurgical fields. There are about 300 exhibitors, 400 delegates participating from over 20 countries brings together India’s key players across mining, minerals, metals and machinery industries and this makes it an opportunity to showcase  products and solutions across bearings, seals, lubrication systems and services as well as engage with customers, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders,” said Sumit Mitra, one of the participants at IME 2022.

Speaking about Australia’s participation at IME 2022, Tim White, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian Trade and Investment Commission, said: “The Australian Pavilion at the IME 2022 exhibition showcases Australia’s mining capabilities and expertise to the Indian mining industry.” Australia has an important role to play in supporting India to enhance productivity and efficiency in its mining sector,” he explained.”There are major opportunities for Indian entities to invest in Australian critical minerals assets in support of stable and resilient supply chains,” he added.

Over the years IME has been successfully providing a perfect platform for display and launch of new initiatives, machinery products technologies and establishing joint ventures developing and renewing international and regional contacts. During IME 2022 experts of the field from India, Germany and Australia shall deliberate on the key issues of the mining and allied sector.
