India’s growth story will be second to none in the world, says Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, at PHDCCI 117th Annual Session 2022

New Delhi September 30 dmanewsdesk: While most countries are still facing difficulties and have not been able to come back to their actual strength after the pandemic, India has been able to shine as compared to other economies. The country continues to be a bright star in the world and has reined in the inflation numbers significantly compared to the rest of the world. Growth is possible when we move out of the old dichotomies and be bold and open for the new, stated Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Textiles, Government of India during the plenary session on the new post-pandemic world at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (PHDCCI) 117th Annual Session 2022. The plenary session was centered on the topic: Braving a New Post-Pandemic World – The Way Ahead for “India Growth Story”.

Shri Goyal stated that India’s growth story also emphasized that the Government mean business for the business in India and will continue to focus on Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), internal processes, and reduce burdens of compliances and certain laws on our businesses. He stated that the Government’s effort is to have single-window for the processes and approvals and not open any window behind the window.

He mentioned PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan (PMGSMP) and called it an infrastructural marvel. He urged the industry members to invite the PMGSMP team and understand how this world-class structure works in implementation of services in stipulated times.

Shri Goyal added that our country, under visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, will be a US$ 30-trillion economy by 2047 when we complete 100 years and we will be much more aspirational. The India growth story will be second to none in the world.

The Hon’ble Union Minister for Commerce & Industry also lauded PHDCCI’s role in nation-building and called it a Chamber with a national outlook. He appreciated PHD Chamber’s efforts, its willingness to engage and think out of the box in providing suggestions to the Government. He hoped that PHD Chamber will continue to engage with the Government with a positive outlook for making India a developed nation.

Shri Pradeep Multani, President, PHD Chamber, stated that the post-pandemic world will be a playground for growth and innovation for consumer businesses – both Indian and global, established and emerging.

He stated that it is the decade of technology and in the field of IT, India has become a force to reckon with globally. We have the competencies to contribute in this techade.

Shri Multani opined that with the rapidly changing global trade and investment dynamics, a more conducive policy environment for trade and industry would be crucial.

Shri Saket Dalmia, Senior Vice President, PHD Chamber, presented the formal vote of thanks and congratulated the Hon’ble Minister for launching PLI scheme, engaging in various FTAs and undertaking several other industry facilitative initiatives and contributing in nation building.
