Auli to be turned into a world-class adventure tourism destination

Auli July 11 dmanewsdesk: Auli in Uttarakhand will be developed into a world-class adventure tourism destination, and a 365-day attraction. To make this happen, Uttarakhand Tourism will be making all the efforts . Referring to this, Tourism Minister of the state, Satpal Maharaj, while chairing a meeting of the senior officials of the department stated that the master plan for the development of Auli as an international tourist destination is being chalked out.

The Minister added that with the master planning, the hill station will be turned into a year-round tourist destination.

The Tourism Minister further added that a skiing village will be developed in Auli, apart from various activities related to adventure tourism will also be organised throughout the year in Auli. As per the reports, these activities will include skiing in winter, whereas adventure sports like hiking, trekking, and rock climbing will be emphasised.

Revealing more about the master plan, he stated that training slopes would be constructed for small children, whereas other enhanced facilities will be developed for all age groups. And to attract more tourists to the destination, extensive infrastructure development works will also be undertaken under the master plan.

Uttarakhand Secretary of Tourism Dilip Jawalkar along with other senior officials of the Tourism Department also attended the meeting.

Auli is famed for being a popular skiing destination in Uttarakhand, which lures tourists from across the country who visit the place to enjoy the snowfall in winter and take part in skiing championships.

Reports have it the Chief Secretary of the state SS Sandhu visited Auli last month and evaluated the tourist facilities at the destination. He added that issues with regard to the implementation of the master plan for Auli’s tourism development will be removed in consultation with the stakeholders, including the Indo-Tibetan Border Security Force (ITBP).
