Heavy rainfall likely in Delhi next week, in parts of northwest India from today

Parts of northwest and central India will witness widespread rainfall starting today, that will last over four days till October 17. 

New Delhi October 15 dmanewsdesk: A seasonal western disturbance is likely to bring heavy downpours in the national capital on Monday, October 16, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. Besides, rain is also likely in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Haryana next week.

Parts of northwest and central India will witness widespread rainfall starting today, that will last over four days till October 17.

This is the first intense western disturbance of the season and will lead to heavy rainfall/snowfall in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the Met office said.

An induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over central Pakistan and the neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.

The system will affect northwest and central India from Friday night to October 17. The moisture from the Arabian Sea will intensify rainfall over northwest India during the same period, it said.

This system is likely to intensify further with the possibility of the merger of a fresh western disturbance on October 15, the IMD said.
